The Eureka Poker Tour (EKA) is a renowned poker tournament series that has captivated the European poker scene since its inception in 2011. The Main Event, renowned for its high buy-in and massive prize pool, attracts both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic amateurs, all vying for the coveted championship bracelet. The World Series of Poker (WSOP), held annually in Las Vegas, is the most prestigious poker tournament series in the world. The last player without a bracelet was eliminated in 13th place, and the six players who reached the final day together had 32 WSOP titles between them. According to the player himself, this was only his fourth tournament of the year. Since the beginning of July, he had already made two cashes before finally winning his first bracelet. Joshua Wang recorded his first live tournament cash four years ago and had never won more than $32K in a single event. The German player battled Dwire for more than an hour and even took the chip lead at one point.
Cristian Gutierrez brought home only the second WSOP bracelet ever won by a Colombian player — the first since David Ospina in 2018. Instead, the spotlight shifted to a dark horse Ryan Bambrick, who played a solid game and outlasted the two poker legends. On the bubble of the final table, he was down to just one chip which was equal to a single big blind. Winner Phovieng Keokham and runner-up Christopher Zollo had been grinding smaller $200–$400 tournaments from time to time, so this was a major breakthrough for both. Michael Wilklow has been grinding live tournaments under $500 since the end of 2022, racking up over 100 small cashes in just two and a half years.

It’s interesting that on the final day, apart from Josh Arieh heads-up and Christopher Tong finishing sixth, Benny didn’t eliminate a single opponent from the tournament. Glaser entered that stage of the tournament as the chip leader. After eliminating Jeevan Lobo in third place, Nataraj entered heads-up play against Laurance Essak with a 2-to-1 chip lead. In the top five, after winning a big pot against Horacio Chavez, she moved into the chip lead. Interestingly, just ten days earlier, Rubin had won a PLO event with the same buy-in at the Aria Poker Classic series.
On June 2, 2011, the World Series of Poker and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté announced plans for an officially sanctioned special fundraising event, known as The Big One for One Drop, starting on July 1, 2012, with a record US$1 million entry fee. The 2023 Main Event took the record for entries, first-place prize, and prize pool. In July 2010, it was announced that the winner of the 2010 Main Event would receive just under US$9 million. Currently, Texas hold ’em, Omaha hold ’em and Seven-card stud and their lowball variants are played.
The first day of the final table was aired on ESPN2 and the final day on ESPN, with both days also streamed on ESPN3 and WSOP.com. The Main Event final table was broadcast on a 15-minute delay with the same policy regarding hole cards. In 2009, ESPN announced they would again move the final table to November 2009. Even after being on camera in various capacities for years, when I worked as the WPT Live Update Hostess in Season X, the larger poker community still pushed back. Liu started the final table with a big stack of 65 BB and initially stayed out of major pots.
But, as someone who walked by the media room a half dozen times this summer and never saw a soul inside it, I doubt people would grasp just how many people were in there. By the end of Bellagio Cup, my boss Jeff Holsey offered me a full-time role, but only if I promised not to drop out of school to take it. July 10 was a busy day for the poker room cashier at the Wynn Las Vegas, where four tournaments played down to winners at the Wynn Summer Classic. Three poker players escaped difficult fields to win sizable amounts of money and a coveted Wynn replica trophy. A total of 253 players bought into the tournament, putting $130,295 in the prize pool.
The long-awaited comeback marked the completion of Borgata’s full annual poker calendar, now covering all four seasons — Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For his efforts, Vodges picked up the trophy and $457,980 in prize money. The 2026 Borgata Winter Open Championship event was the highlight of the festival. Most of my family is in China, especially my mom, and I want to have more time to spend with her. Tony ‘Ren’ Lin has expanded his high stakes prowess to his home continent of Asia as he looks to add APT accolades to his esteemed poker resume. But some people don’t have time for the stream. Some might only scroll chip counts, some might only read post headlines, some might only see the recap, so we intentionally crafted a product that could serve many needs.
